A weed trimmer, like many other yard tools, can be a dangerous tool to use. You should always wear some kind of safety protection on your eyes when you are using the weed trimmer. This is because the weeds and other items from the ground can fly up and hit you in the eye. Without protection for your eyes, this can cause permanent damage.

It is also a good practice to wear long pants when you are using a weed trimmer. Something from the ground can cut one or both of your legs if they are not covered by some kind of material.

Avoid using the weed trimmer for items that are over your head. There is so much that can go wrong in this situation. If you lose your balance and fall, the weed trimmer will fall with you. There is no predicting where it would fall. This isn’t a gamble that anyone should take. Another reason for not using the weed trimmer above the head is because the risk of debris flying is greater in this situation.

Undoubtedly you want to get rid of the weeds in your yard. And you probably want to get rid of them fast. Safety is more important that killing weeds, especially when the cost of not practicing safety could be fatal.
